A 25-year-old Lake Charles man wanted in a home invasion and armed robbery early Monday morning on 9th Avenue has been arrested.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said Michael E. Malbroux and a partner are accused of entering the home of Malbroux’s mother through a window and robbing her roommate at gunpoint.

“The suspects threatened the victim and stole his money, keys, and cell phone before fleeing the scene,” Vincent said.

Malbroux was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He is charged with home invasion, armed robbery, armed robbery with the use of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The investigation is ongoing, she said.
