Lake Charles Police are investigating a hit-and-run in which a child was struck by a vehicle.

Sgt. Andrew Malveaux said officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of 5th Avenue Friday night about a 4-year-old child being struck by a silver-colored SUV.

Malveaux said the SUV fled the scene southbound on 5th Avenue.

Anyone with information regarding this hit and run should contact the Lake Charles Police Department – Traffic Division at 337-491-1311. The lead investigator is Cpl. Rodney Grantham.
