FEMA grants additional $20M for SW La. disaster recovery

An additional $20 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency grants have been announced for Louisiana disaster aid.

“It is great to see more disaster funding come to Louisiana for our resilient communities to continue rebuilding,” said U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La. “This funding is a promise for a brighter future.”

The FEMA aid will fund the following:

  • $15,106,751 to Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative, Inc. for repairs to a damaged 138 kV transmission system as a result of Hurricane Laura.
  • $4,944,971.70 to Calcasieu Parish Voluntary Council on the Aging for building replacement.
