LC man wanted for armed robbery of mother’s roommate

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 25-year-old Lake Charles man wanted in a home invasion and armed robbery early Monday morning on 9th Avenue.

Michael E. Malbroux and a partner are accused of entering the home of Malbroux’s mother through a window and robbing her roommate at gunpoint.

“The suspects threatened the victim and stole his money, keys, and cell phone before fleeing the scene,” spokesperson Kayla Vincent said.

Detectives attempted to locate Malbroux but were unsuccessful.

A warrant for his arrest, signed by Judge Tony Fazzio in the amount of $180,000, charges Malbroux for home invasion; armed robbery; armed robbery with the use of a firearm; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

If anyone has any information on Malbroux’s whereabouts they are asked to call CPSO at 491-3605.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.  CPSO Violent Crimes Detective Barrett Savoie is the lead investigator on this case.
