Sahid Carol Shamsie Jr. passed away on July 20,2023 at his residence.  A native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Sahid was born on Feb. 21, 1959, to Sahid and Mattie Sue Shamsie Sr.

After graduating high school from Barbe High, Sahid Jr. went to work for his family’s business, Park-N-Shop, where he never met a stranger. He was a beloved friend to many and had a heart of gold. He cherished time with his family and loved ones and was the life of the party. All of whom were blessed to have met him were touched by his infectious and fun-loving personality which led to many strangers becoming family.

His brilliant and compassionate soul touched so many lives but most importantly his family. Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Dan Shamsie and wife Barbara, Debra Shamsie, Deanna Shamsie Reynolds and husband Keith, and Shauna Shamsie. He was also another father figure to his nieces and nephews which include Danielle Shamsie Prejean and husband Byron, Jason Shamsie and wife Sara, Josh Fuselier, Shadda Perrodin Ethridge and husband Reggie, and Raven Fuselier Miranda and husband Joel. His legacy will remain through his many great nieces and nephews that will forever cherish his memories.

Visitation for Sahid will be Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA 70605. Visitation will resume at 11  a.m., Sunday, July 23, 2023, and his funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow funeral services at Consolata Cemetery.
