Shelba “Shub” Linda Rigmaiden

Shelba Linda “Shub” Rigmaiden Treme was born September 13, 1938, and passed away July 16, 2023, at the age of 84. She was a member of the Single Action Shooter Society, rodeoed, and trained cutting horses. She also enjoyed hunting all kinds of animals such as: deer, turkey, dove, and bears. Shub was a dedicated businesswoman and horse breeder. She competed and won numerous prizes such as: 1982-Reserve Lazy E Futurity, 1984-Louisiana QHBA Non Pro, 1985-WCHA Reserve World Champion, 1985 West Texas Futurity in Amarillo, 1986-Semi Finalist in Futurity, 1986-Split 4th in Super Stakes, 1986 Louisiana QHBA Non Pro Finalist, and 1987-QHBA Champion. Shub succeeded at anything she put her mind to.
She is survived by her children, The Rev. Edward J. Richard, Jr., Ricky A. Richard, Steve Richard and wife, Shelli, and Dusty Dickerson and husband, Mark, Angela LaBuff, and Tony Palermo, Jr.; grandchildren, Gary Dickerson and wife, Ashley, Cullen Dickerson and wife, Tori, Christy Richard, Amanda Richard, Cade Richard and wife, Kamryn, Tyler Richard and wife, Jacqueline, Tayler Hext and husband, Kaine, and Steven Richard, Jr. and wife, Heather, Kassy Palermo, Tony Palermo, Julia Williams, Vicky Mullen and husband, Kirk; great grandchildren, McKenna, Dylan, Hannah, Andrew, Allie, Anderson, Grant, Grady, Bella, Dylan, Porter, Piper, Sydney, Octavia, Myles, Logan, Wyatt, Everly, and Henry Paul.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Edward J. Richard, Sr.; husband, Willard Treme; grandchildren, Ryan Richard and Myles S. Dickerson; parents, Thomas Roy Rigmaiden, Sr. and Noba Gearen Rigmaiden; and her brother, Thomas Rigmaiden, Jr.
Family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2023, with a rosary to be held at 6 p.m., at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Sulphur, Louisiana. Very Reverend Edward Richard, M.S. will serve as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Alston Cemetery, DeQuincy, La.
