Alex Chaisson, Jr.,  age 85, of Welsh, La. passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Alex was born on May 3, 1938 in Pine Island, La. 

Alex worked as a Electrical Lineman and was a member of Union 390 for over 60 years. He was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Alex loved spending time with his family, but especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, watching Alecia dance and Zachary and Hunter play baseball at many area fields.

Alex was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Chaisson Sr and Ernestine Iguess Chaisson, 2 sisters, and 5 brothers. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Eldine Chaisson; daughters, Staycle Duplichan (Pat) and Melissa Bihm (Raymond); grandchildren, Alecia Roberson (Daniel), Zachary Bihm (Lani), and Hunter Bihm (fiancee’, Brylee); great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Charlie, Elijah, Aubree, and Abel; a sister, Dean Arceneaux (Jimmy); and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church with  The Rev. Susil Fernando officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh, La.
