Summer fun idea: Build a solar oven

Can you build an oven with just a few household materials?
Using a few common household items and good old-fashioned sunlight, teens will build a solar oven out of cardboard and foil while learning how to cook food without electricity.
The fun takes place 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at the Carnegie Memorial Library, located at 411 Pujo St. in downtown Lake Charles.

Snacks and materials will be provided. Due to limited space, registration is required. To sign up, call the Carnegie Library at 337-721-7084.
The program is free and open to all area teens.
