Randy Paul Courmier

Randall Courmier, age 65, of Lake Charles, La. passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023. 

Randy “Pogo” was born in Orange, Texas, to parents Gawain and Wyolene Courmier on January 17,1958. He was a graduate of Vinton High School, Class of 1976. Randy was an avid football and baseball player and received numerous awards for showing cattle in 4H. He attended a technical college in Nashville, Tn., for diesel mechanics. 

Randy travelled extensively for work, which often took him out of the country; but always made it home for the important things. He and his family lived in the Virgin Islands for 6 years due to the nature of his work.

He was very dedicated to his job and was regarded highly for his knowledge in his field of work. Randy settled his family in Lake Charles in 1996 where they spent the remainder of their lives.

Randy loved his family, especially his daughter, Brittany. He was known to have a wild sense of humor and was always making people laugh. He was a man of many hobbies and liked scuba diving, skiing, fishing, watching Nascar, and playing and watching sports. 

Randy is preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Courmier; parents; brother, Garry Courmier; and sister, Kay McKelvy.

His memory will be cherished by his daughter, Brittany Lyons; step-son, Chris Huff; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Michael, Brennan, and Koehn; sister, Brenda Courmier; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to invite friends to Hixson Funeral Home at 3001 Ryan St. Lake Charles, La., in the Chapel of Peace, beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Services to be led by Hixson Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux. 

A graveside service will follow at Highland Cemetery in Lake Charles, La. 

The family would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to the staff of Harbor Hospice and Lake Charles Memorial for the care of Randy.
