The Federal Emergency Management Agency is awarding an additional $3,411,061.81 million in federal grants for hurricane recovery efforts in Southwest Louisiana.

“Southwest Louisiana has remained strong throughout the recovery mission,” U.S. Congressman Clay Higgins, R-Louisiana, said. “We are resilient and steadfast. Storms can’t destroy our communities.”

The funding is made available through the major disaster declaration for Hurricane Laura, which Higgins supported.

  • $2,284,503.56 to the Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for campus wide emergency protective services.

“During a hurricane, our hospitals are on the front lines taking care of our communities,” said U.S Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-Louisiana. “This funding will help the Lake Charles Memorial Hospital rebuild and be prepared for when the next storm hits.”

“Louisianians are still rebuilding after Hurricane Laura, and I’m glad to see this $1.1 million go towards the facilities at the Lake Charles Memorial Hospital,” said U.S. Sen. John Kennedy, R-Louisiana.
