Bro. Wayne Kite

Bro. Wayne Kite went to his forever home in Heaven on Monday, May 22, 2023, in DeRidder, La.
Mr. Kite was a native of DeRidder and shared a business with his brother Robert Kite for a number of years before leaving the area to attend The Baptist Bible institute in Graceville, Fl. He graduated three years later and then attended William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Ms for two years and at a later date, he attended New Orleans Baptist seminary for three years and graduated with a masters in Theological Studies. Brother Wayne Kite pastored a number of churches in four different states. His first church was in Enterprise, Al. He then went on to pastor two churches in DeRidder; Ludington Baptist Church and Westview Baptist Church. He pastored in Pineville, La as well as Spokane, Wa and Hattiesburg, Ms. He will be remembered by many as a wonderful preacher as well as pastor. However, he would love for you to remember him as a person who loved his Lord and wanted to share Him with everyone. Praise God for his mercies and promises. God Is Good.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Gail Kite of DeRidder, La; son, Timothy Kite of Colorado Springs, Colo; daughters, Cynthia Hall and Pamela Penton, both of DeRidder, La; brother, Robert Kite of DeRidder, La; sister, Diane Penney of DeRidder, La; grandchildren, Nathan Moses, Telia Francis, Cody Penton, Tyler Penton, Thera O’Bryant; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eleanor Kite; brothers, Joe Kite, Kenneth Kite.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Lewis Cemetery in DeRidder, La. Bro. Johnny Bosley and Roger Longoria will officiate the service.
Services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La.
