Cameron Parish had one positive sample from the Grand Lake area, according to the state Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. A mosquito truck will spray that area tonight and it will be treated by airplane on Tuesday if the weather permits.
Cameron Parish residents can protect themselves by reducing their exposure to mosquitoes — especially during dusk, dawn and night time hours — by wearing long protective clothing, using mosquito repellent, and emptying any containers on your property that are holding water.Spray-sensitive individuals should remain indoors during the application.
Trucks will spray tonight in North Grand Lake, South Grand Lake, West Sweetlake, East Sweetlake, Little Chenier, Chenier Purdue, East Creole
and Grand Chenier.
