Lake Charles Police officers were involved in a pursuit Tuesday night involving a stolen vehicle from Shreveport.

Lt. Brenda Treadway said officers initiated a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of Legion Street and Gerstner Memorial Drive.

“The driver of the stolen vehicle, later identified as, 30-year-old David Todd Blanchard from Baton Rouge, refused to stop for officers,” Treadway said.

Blanchard led officers to Jennings where his vehicle was disabled and came to a stop. He was arrested without incident, Treadway said.

Blanchard has been charged with aggravated flight, possession of stolen items, felony obstruction, possession of marijuana, possession of CDS II and possession of drug paraphernalia.
