Bayou Babies Academy is kicking off the start of summer with a carnival full of food, games and other fun for the whole family.
“A Carnival on the Bayou: It’s a Bayou (Babies) Thang” will be held 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at the Jeff Davis Parish fairgrounds, 810 S. Lake Arthur Avenue in Jennings.
“We just wanted to do something to give back to the community and bring the community together to do something fun and kick off the summer,” Bayou Babies staff member Samantha Abel said.
While a lot of the activities will be geared for children, there will be something for the entire family, she said.
“We want everyone to come out, get the summer started with us and have a good time,” Abel said.
Activities will include a petting zoo, touch a truck event, bounce houses and slides, face painting, games, baby alligators, music, a photo booth, craft vendors, informational booths, prizes and more. There will also be carnival rides for children ages 3-10.
Funnel cakes, snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy and more will also be available.
There is no admission charge to get in the carnival, but attendees will need to pay for some activities including purchasing crafts and raffle tickets.
