Kenneth “”Kenny”” Larry Blagrave

Kenneth “Kenny” Larry Blagrave, 75, of DeQuincy, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. He was born to his late parents, O.B. “Tom” and Sadie Blagrave on January 18, 1948, in Texas City, Texas. Kenny was proud of his military service in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was owner/operator of DeQuincy Welding for many years. Kenny was a member of Temple Baptist Church in DeQuincy. Kenny loved playing dominoes, hunting and fishing, and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved going to the creek and enjoying the BBQ pit he had made. Kenny never met a stranger, and enjoyed talking to anyone he came in contact with. Most of all, he loved his family very much. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gay Wallace Blagrave; five daughters, Kimberly Blagrave Verzwyvelt (Brent) of New Braunsfels, Texas, Kristi Blagrave Knight (Jody) of DeQuincy, La, Kasey Lynn Blagrave of DeQuincy, La, Kelli Blagrave Bryant (Michael) of Caldwell, Texas, and Kae Blagrave Hammond (Jason) of DeQuincy, La; two brothers, Arnold Blagrave (Brenda) of DeQuincy, La and Gerald Smith (Joy) of Bayou La Batre, Al; niece, Julie Mazilly Echegoyen (Hector) of Denham Springs, La; 22 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; along with two on the way. 

Kenny is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Olivia Blagrave.

A Celebration of Kenny’s life will be held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 1 p.m., with Bro. Dwayne Hyatt officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 11 am, until the time of the service. 

Kenny was a proud donor for others to receive the gift of life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local DeQuincy Memorial Post #3802 V.F.W. and Auxiliary.
