An Iowa, La. man is facing multiple charges — including domestic abuse battery with child endangerment and aggravated assault upon a dating partner with child endangerment — after an incident involving his girlfriend and her children earlier this week in Jeff Davis Parish.

Jacob Micha Allen, 22, was arrested Monday by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office on charges of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, two counts of aggravated assault upon a dating partner with child endangerment, violation of protective orders and flights from an officer.

Chief Deputy Chris Ivey said deputies were notified of a domestic abuse battery incident on Monday and met with the complainant as she was picking her children up from school. The children were afraid and did not want to go home because the mother’s boyfriend had been hurting her in their presence, he said.

The complaint had physical marks and injuries to her body. She also told deputies that her boyfriend, who was identified as Allen, used a knife to intimidate her while they talked about their troubled relationship, Ivey said.

Deputies went to a residence in Lacassine to speak to the Allen. Allen fled as deputies approached the residence, but was captured following a short foot pursuit, he said

Allen has previous domestic violence arrests in Beauregard, Calcasieu, Vernon and Jeff Davis parishes, according to Ivey.
