A Southwest Louisiana Charter Academy student was arrested Wednesday morning after making threats to harm students at the school.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said the 13-year-old boy was arrested at about 11 a.m. after deputies were notified he had made threatening comments about shooting up the school and shooting students at the school.

Vincent said the boy booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with terrorizing/menacing.
