Higgins: FEMA reimbursing $3.5 million to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital

U.S. Congressman Clay Higgins, R-Louisiana, announced today that FEMA is awarding an additional $3,566,609.24 million in federal grants for hurricane recovery efforts in Southwest Louisiana.

The funding is made available through the major disaster declaration for Hurricane Laura (DR-4559-LA), which Higgins supported.

The reimbursement includes $3,566,609.24 to the Southwest Louisiana Hospital Association for permanent repairs to the Lake Charles Memorial Hospital’s main campus. The reimbursement is made at 90% federal cost-share and authorized under Section 406 of the Robert T. Stafford Act.

“The steadfast resilience of Southwest Louisiana throughout the recovery mission is strong,” Higgins said in an email to the American Press. To date, our office has delivered over $4 billion in hurricane recovery relief. Our office will continue to work with our local, state, and federal partners to deliver much needed resources for growth and prosperity throughout the recovery mission.”
