Mr. Howard A. Pappillion, known by many as Papoo, passed away on April 24, 2023, at the age of 95. Mr. Pappillion was a current resident of Baton Rouge, but spent most of his life residing in Lake Charles, La., where he worked for the city many years. Mr. Pappillion was loved by countless people who he touched throughout his lifetime.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at St. Henry Church with visitation starting at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Cemetery. 

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mable Guillory Pappillion; son, John Judman Pappillion; daughter, Magdalene “Shelle” Pappillion-Simien and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Tiffane Pappillion and husband Brandon, Christopher Pappillion, Jeremy Simien and wife Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Henleigh and Jordan;  and sisters-in-law, Rose Pappillion, Rita Pappillion and Otella Pappillion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexson and Amessia Pappillion; daughter, Loretta Agatha Ann Pappillion; and six brothers, Euel Pappillion, Wilfred Pappillion, Johnny Merrick Pappillion, Francis Pappillion, Herbert Pappillion and Cleveland Pappillion.
