Washington-Marion High School students, staff and faculty released balloons Thursday in the school parking lot as they celebrate and honor the life of student Rhyann Green. Green, a 17-year-old senior at the school, died April 22 from leukemia.

An honor student, Green was involved in the Student Council, Beta Club, Explorers Club and Honor Society.

She was a member of the Dancing Dolls dance line and was the school’s homecoming queen.
