JENNINGS – It is with great sadness and very heavy hearts, the family of Marguerite Carter announces her passing into the arms her Lord and Savior on April 18, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Marguerite Carter was born May 9, 1928, to Alfred S. and Edna Marshall Campbell in Jennings, La.
After graduating from Jennings High, she met and married the love of her life, Harry Carter, and they were married for 64 years. After being raised as a city girl, she adapted to working alongside her husband on the family farm.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Betty Jo Carter Loewer, Debra S. Carter, Suzanne Carter Laperouse, Denise Carter Brant; and son, David D. Carter; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Harry Carter; and her son-in-law, Dicky Loewer.
Per her request a graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings, La. with the Rev. Walter Parker officiating.
We will miss her more than words can express, and we appreciate your love and support during this difficult time.
