Rose Ann Brittain

Ann Rose Brittain, 89, a resident of Iowa, La., passed away from this life on April 9, 2023, in a local hospice facility.
Mrs. Brittain will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and her most cherished title of great-grandmother. Mrs. Brittain was born in Napa, Calif., and raised in Santa Rosa, Calif., where she graduated from Ursuline High School (an all-girls Catholic School). She was a strong woman of faith and prayer. She proudly served the Calcasieu Parish School Board as a School Bus Driver for over thirty years. She enjoyed reading, watching mysteries and cooking shows, and mostly spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John J. (Josephine J Barsuglia) Cassani; her husband, Gilbert E. Brittain; son, Dale Eugene Brittain; and brother, John J. Cassani.
Ann leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Richard Brittain (Lisa) of Houston, Texas, Elizabeth Clippinger of Arvada, Colo., and Melissa Alexander (Greg) of Iowa, La.; 11 grandchildren, Adrian (Andrea) Garland, Josh (Somure) Brittain, Phillip (Erica) Brittain, Jaimy B. Sanchez, Ty (Cessanee) Brittain, Leah (Austin) Fenoglio, Kestra Derise, Nick (Kelly) Clippinger, Kiley (Ben) Wallace, Brandon (Lana) Fontenot, Dr. Daniel (Megan)Fontenot; 18 great-grandchildren, Zeke, Evan, and Liam Garland, Lilly and Addison Brittain, Jocelyn Seymour, E.J. Sanchez, Madison Wilson, Sayde, and Wyatt Brittain, Arya Fenoglio, Jameson Clippinger, Eli and Alma Wallace and Brianna, London, Peyton, and Gauge Fontenot.
In accordance with Mrs. Brittain’s wishes, her cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
