Vera Davison Miyasaki

Vera Davison Miyasaki, whose wonderful energetic spirit indelibly touched generations of people, passed away peacefully on Nov. 9, 2022, in Peachtree Corners, Ga. Born on April 13, 1920, in Lake Charles, La., was preceded in death by her loving parents, Thomas and Lillian Nisby; brothers, Charles and Wiley; sisters, Addie, Ina Tommie, Lillian, Mercedes, and most recently, Verlie Mae.
Vera taught Special Education and Kindergarten for many years in the Oakland Unified School District. Before and after retirement Vera kept active with various positions for over 40 years at Our Savior Lutheran Church and after merging continued to serve United Lutheran Church. In her early 90’s Vera continued to thrive joining the Antioch Senior Center in Contra Costa County and becoming a member of the tap dance troop, The Antioch Senior Flappers.
Vera was blessed to marry and survive four husbands, Albert G. Green Jr., Perry B Davison, Carter Shired, and N. Jim Miyasaki. She was the mother of six children. Preceded in death by Albert G. Green III, Kenneth P. Green, Diane E. Davison; and survived by Connie R. Johnson, Felicia A. Davison, Helen M. Zakow, and her beloved daughter, Joanna E. Davison. A grandmother of 10 and was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren. Vera was loved by a host of nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life for Vera will be held on Sunday April 15 in Oakland, Calif. Please contact the family for details or questions.
