Jennings man accused of assaulting ambulance workers

A Jennings who became irate and aggressive toward ambulance workers while being transported to a local hospital following a vehicle crash has been arrested on an assault charge.

Ulysses Sampson Murchison, 42, was arrested Saturday for assault on emergency personnel, emergency service personnel or a health care professional.

According to a release from the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to La. 26 to assist Allen Parish Ambulance Service with a combative subject.

Upon arrival, officers observed two medicals on the outside of the ambulance.

Murchison was was standing in the side door entrance of the ambulance.

Deputies removed Murchison from the ambulance and waited for another ambulance to respond.

Med Express Ambulance Service transported Murchison to Oschner Jennings American Legion Hospital where he was evaluated by medial staff and released from the hospital and placed under arrest.
