A Louisiana student was arrested when he tried to carry a gun into his high school Thursday, shortly after threatening to kill a coach, the local sheriff’s office said.

The student at Southwood High School in Shreveport had argued with the coach after the coach asked him to stop vaping at school. He then threatened to kill the coach before leaving the school gym, according to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The coach contacted the sheriff’s school resource officer at the high school, who spotted the student in a parking lot, preparing to re-enter the school building.
