Which is the most interesting game on the schedule?
WA: South Beauregard at Kinder baseball, today. Each team is looking to rebound from a pair of District 3-3A losses. The teams occupy the top two spots in the Division III power ratings. The winner gets a big haul of power points and takes another step towards earning home-field advantage through the first three rounds of the playoffs.
RA: South Beauregard at Kinder softball, today. Both teams have been building a lot of momentum lately. Kinder has won 11 of its last 13, while South Beauregard has won 10 of 13. Both are undefeated in district play, and the Lady K’s can win at least a share of the District 3-3A championship with a win.
Name a boy athlete to watch.
WA: DeQuincy’s Reese Ashworth threw a no-hitter and hit a grand slam to lead the Tigers to a win Tuesday. Today the Tigers play at District 5-2A leader Notre Dame.
RA: Junior Nik Toups has been the Sam Houston Broncos’ ace reliever of late. In his last five appearances, he hasn’t given up an earned run in 8 2/3 innings with 10 strikeouts and no walks. The Broncos’ start a two-game series with Southside today in Lafayette with the second game Saturday in Moss Bluff.

WA: In Sulphur’s five-game winning streak, first baseman Emma Thomson has eight hits, four home runs, 11 runs and 10 runs batted in.
RA: DeQuincy senior pitcher Gabby Lafferty has allowed six earned runs in her last seven starts, totaling 40 innings in the circle with 45 strikeouts. The Tigers have a big District 5-2A showdown today at Notre Dame after a 3-1 loss to the Pioneers two weeks ago.
