Scott Maine passed away peacefully on the evening of Nov. 19, 2022, in Lake Charles, La. He was born in Torrence, Calif., and graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1975. Scott also earned a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla in May 2004. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was dedicated to his work in the aeronautics field, where he patented a design for airplane defense systems. Scott traveled to many countries through his work and provided support with his expertise in KC-10 airplanes.
He was predeceased by his wife Tahira Maine.
He is survived by his former wife, Merlinda Maine and their three children, Dr. Nathan Maine, Crystal Maine-Harless, and Kay Maine; his grandson, Jason Rea; and his brother, Gordon Maine.
His predecessors are Charles Maine and Theresa Maine-Ogburn.
A small private service was held by his family and a burial-at-sea service will be organized with the U.S. Navy. More details of his final deployment can be provided by his family.
