JENNINGS — Guests are invited to gather to celebrate the life of Joseph Paul Williams, 61, on Sunday, March 26, 2023, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the chapel of Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings.
Joseph Paul Williams, 61, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born Oct. 4, 1961, to Bradley and Helen Williams; and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. Joseph retired from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department after many years of dedicated service as a Detective. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing; an exceptional chef who enjoyed expressing his love for family and friends through creative recipes at every delicious meal; loved working in the yard; and most importantly spending time with his family; whom he loved dearly. He was a loving husband, exemplary father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Jennifer Williams; their two children, Cameron Fontenot of Westlake, La., and Megan Fontenot; his nephew, Alexander English (Christina) and their son, Greyson Paul English of Silver Spring, Md.; one grandson, Malachi Johnson; his sister, Patricia “Patty” English; and several other relatives and friends.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Bradley Williams and Helen Guidry Williams; and one brother, George Allen Williams.
