David Charles Brame

David Charles Brame, 70, of Lafayette passed away at 3:44 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 in a Lafayette hospital.
Mr. Brame was born on Dec. 24, 1952 in Sulphur where he was raised and graduated from Sulphur High School. Following graduation, he attended McNeese State University. He began his career with Solar Supply and retired after more than 30 years of service. Mr. Brame moved to Lafayette 20 years ago where he was currently residing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Metairie Jaycees.
In his earlier years, he enjoyed surfing and golfing. In his spare time, he also took pleasure in hunting and playing dominoes. His most cherished and memorable time was spent at family gatherings. He was affectionately called “Day Day.”
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, John Brame and wife Teri, Paul Brame and wife Jackie, Kyle Brame, and Ryan Brame and wife Whitnee; brothers, Chet Brame and wife Carol, Billy Brame and wife Patti, Tommy Brame and wife Leah, and Brock Brame and wife Desiree; grandchildren, Madeline Brame and fiancé Anthony Yruegas, Garrett Brame, Kate Brame, Chelsie Brame, Kaitlynn Stelly, Peyton Brame, Laila Brame, Brendan Brame, Lillian Brame, and Cameron Brame; and great-grandchildren, Gabriella Yruegas, Koston Chen, and Millie Yruegas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Adrienne Dorgant Brame; and his parents, Betty Jo and James Brame.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heart Hospital of Lafayette and to Dr. Craig Greene, for the exceptional care given to Mr. Brame and the family.
A funeral mass will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor Daniel Torres will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until leaving for the church at 11:30 a.m.
