Belinda Marie Monceaux Myers, 57, of DeRidder, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, in the comfort of her home.
Belinda was born Oct. 26, 1965, in Lake Charles to Ivan and Carolyn Bourgeois Monceaux and has lived most of her life in the Lake area. Raised in the country, she enjoyed the simpler side of life: playing in the fields, games in the barn and cookouts of barbeque and crawfish. She studied to obtain a license as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Baytown Technical School. As she enjoyed working at Resthaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, she found nursing to be most rewarding. She loved music, dancing, arts and craft projects, coloring and watching movies. Sharing these hobbies with her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. Belinda was a kind spirit with a generous heart who welcomed many into her home so that they would have food and shelter. She was a Christian, believed in the power of prayer and is reunited with her Lord and Savoir and her family in Heaven.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Kayla Marie Myers of Lake Charles, Angel Marie Myers of Lake Charles, and Courtney Michelle Myers Sykes (Quarterrious) of DeRidder; eight grandchildren, Calvin Sean Gordon II, Nicholas Jolie Ray Predmore, Bentley Cody Charles Predmore, Leon Harold Henson Cormier, Laci Marie Myers, Kaylee Marie Myers, Tabitha Dawn Michelle Myers and Daniel Matthew Jose; companion and dear friend, Kenneth “Kenny” Riggle of DeRidder, one sister, Marcellete Monceaux Tweed (Doug) of Lake Charles; two brothers, Norman Ken Monceaux and Ivan Monceaux Jr., both of Lake Charles and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tabitha Nicole Monceaux; sister, Suzie Toomey; brother, Ivy Monceaux and her parents.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. The Rev. Steve Shirley will officate. Interment services will follow at Friendship Baptist Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
