Rodney Evans Reddoch

Rodney Evans Reddoch, 88, of Lake Charles, passed away at 5:48 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, in his residence.
Mr. Reddoch was born on Jan. 26, 1935, in Jachin, Ala. In 1953 he moved to Lake Charles, where he was a 1954 graduate of Landry Memorial Catholic School. Following graduation, he was employed with PPG Industries for 3 years before becoming a Federal Clerk of Court. He first worked with Judge Edwin Hunter until the judge’s retirement in 1976 and then worked for Judge Earl Veron until he and the judge both retired in 1982. During his tenure with the courts, he also owned Calcasieu Real Estate Company and was a notary from 1958 until his death. He was a hard worker and on the rare occasion when he was not working he could be found fishing.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Janice Rosfield Reddoch of Lake Charles; his son, Thomas “Tommy” Reddoch (Peggy) of Lake Charles; step son, Monty Daughenbaugh of Lake Charles; brother, Winsett Reddoch (Gail) of Stephenville, Texas; granddaughter, Vanessa Istre (Aaron) of Moss Bluff; grandson, William Reddoch of Denver, Colo.; step grandson, Cody Benoit of Orlando, Fla.; and great-granddaughter, Isabella Istre of Moss Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Susan McInnis and Cyril Reddoch and his siblings, Max Evans, Gerald Reddoch, A.J. Evans, Klein Evans, and Steve Reddoch.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume on Thursday from 12 p.m. until the start of the service.
