Texas couple arrested at local truck stop facing child neglect, cruelty charges

A Texas couple is facing child neglect charges after Jennings police discovered multiple children living in deplorable conditions in an RV camper at a local truck stop.

According to Jennings police, Danial W. Myers, 29, and Kyla Hosea, 28, of Conroe, Texas, were arrested Feb. 8 on four counts of cruelty to juveniles after police responded to a welfare concern involving four children between the ages of 2 and 10.

Police met with the couple and found that living conditions inside the RV were extremely poor with foul odors coming from inside. Animal and human feces were found throughout the RV, which did not have any running water or electricity.

Police also found that the children did not have enough food to eat with only partial loaves of bread and sliced cheese. Police say it also appears there was no bedding for the children who had poor hygiene, filthy clothes and inadequate footwear to protect them from the observed biohazards on the floor as well as other hazards found inside the RV.

Myers, told police he resided inside the camper with the children and that they children lacked proper medical care, nourishment and education.

Hosea denied all allegations.

The couple is being held in the Jeff Davis Parish Jail on a $20,000 bond each.

Myers faces additional charges of possession of marijuana. Hosea was also charged with distribution or possession with intent to distribute narcotics and possession of marijuana..

The children were placed in the care of Child Protective Services.
