Charles Donahue Burton

Charles Donahue Burton, 81, of Sulphur, La., died on Feb. 13, 2023. Charles was born on March 22, 1941, in Iota, La., to Joseph and Josephine Burton.
Charles enjoyed wood working, gardening, cooking, softball, golfing, and his Tuesday night poker game. He was known for his generous love of family time at barbecues for every holiday and get togethers with family and friends. Charles was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, a member of the Knights of Columbus as a 3rd degree Knight and worked over 30 years in the Petro Chemical Industry as an area supervisor. He also was co-owner of B and B Homes. Charles loved refereeing College and High School sports for 30 plus years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Stephanie Menou Burton; five children, Michael Burton, Alicia Burton Alaniz and husband Juan, Joseph Burton, Charles J. Burton and wife AunJelle, and Robert Burton and wife Lynn; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; eight siblings, Thomas, Wayne, Mitch, James, Deborah, Dale, Damian, and Josette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joanne; sister-in-law, Donita; and brother-in- law, Charles Pruett
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 8 a.m. on Thursday at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home until 9:30 a.m. to proceed to the church for services. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines South under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Fr. Edward Richard, M.S. will officiate services.
