Southwest Louisiana is under a marginal risk for severe storms Wednesday afternoon as a cold front makes its way east through the region.

The main threat will be straight-line wind gusts, according to the National Weather Service’s Lake Charles office. There is also the potential for large hail and spin-up tornadoes.
The cold front is expected to move west to east through the area Wednesday afternoon through early Thursday morning.
