Mardi Gras was in full swing Saturday as the 24th annual Lake Arthur Mardi Gras Parade rolled through downtown. More than 50 bead throwing floats, costumed revelers, horses and wagons took part in the event which ended with chicken chases in the park.

Mardi Gras krewes from throughout Southwest Louisiana and Texas participated in the 24th annual Lake Arthur Mardi Gras parade on Saturday. The festivities kicked off earlier in the day with a countryside run to dance and chase chickens.
