Janet Brooks Steven of Downy, Calif. departed this life on Jan. 30, 2023. Janet is a native of Lake Charles, La. and resided in Downy, Calif. after she met and married her husband of 32 years, Craig Stevens. To this union, one son was born, Jamaal A. Stevens.
Janet was preceeded in death by her mother, Pearl Brooks; grandmother, Viola Mitchell; and two brothers, Ronald Brooks Sr. and Brian Brooks.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Craig Stevens; her son, Jamaal Stevens, both of Downy, Calif.; three brothers, Jeffery Brooks, Donald Brooks Sr., and Timothy Barnes, all of Lake Charles; two sisters, Joyce Brooks Francis of Lake Charles and Shane Martin of Beaumont, Texas; along with relatives and friends.
