Elridge Savant

Elridge Savant, 88, passed away on Jan. 29, 2023, peacefully in a local care facility. Elridge was born on Feb. 28, 1934, in Mamou, La., to Mr. and Mrs. Avie Savant.
He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish the great outdoors. He was a lifelong member served as an usher at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church. He worked for Robinson Tank Line, DSI and Tri-Mac for 40 years as a diesel mechanic and shop foreman.
Elridge is survived by his two children; Carroll Savant and Debra Dartez, nine grandchildren; Jeremy Savant, Ivan Savant (Dee Dee), Will Savant, Zachary Savant, Kaleb Savant, Shelby McNicoll, Mandy Carpenter (Robert), Jerad Dartez (Tessa), and Shawntee Dartez; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margie; and stepdaughter; Darlene Donaldson.
Funeral service for Elridge will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South, under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home, and continue Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at 9 a.m. until we depart for the church.
