David Carson, 79, a resident of Lake Charles, passed from this life on Jan. 19, 2023, in a local nursing home surrounded by his children and all their love.
David was predeceased by his wife, Lillian Carson; parents, Robert and Dorothy Shanklin; sisters, Janice Jones and Nancy; son, Dennis Schwab; brothers, Edward and Richard Shanklin, Teddy and Bobby; and daughter-in-law, Justicia Carson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Lillian Garrett and husband John of Lake Charles, Carol Shanklin of Ohio, Kelly Gregory and husband Doug of Ohio; sons, Dolan Carson and wife Anna of DeRidder, Brad Wright of Longville, La., Dale Carson and Lydia of DeRidder, Daniel Carson of Lake Charles, David Shanklin and wife Pam of Ohio, Doug Carson and wife Nancy of Ohio; brother Phil Shanklin and sister Cara Lewis of Ohio, grandchildren, Dolan, Wesley, Alex, Chloe, Felicia, Ariel, Alexandra, Mike, Bradley Jr., Donald, Gabrielle, Brandon, Matthew, Harley, Jade, Dennis Jr., Michael, Alexis, Christian, Brittany, Tyler, Michaela, Heather, Jessica, Gregg, Jacob, Rudy, Garth and Timmy; and great-grandchildren, Sarah, Dolan Jr., Mazzie, Mia, Ava, William, Wyatt, Eloise, Elijah, Emily, Ethan and Sebastian.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family in the Sanctuary of First Nazarene Church of Lake Charles, located at 3940 Holly Hill Road, Lake Charles, LA 70605, on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, from 10 a.m. until time of service. Funeral service will be held at the church at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
