Landry named Police Jury president, Brame vice president

Landry of District 7, South Central Lake Charles to the Cameron Parish line, is serving his sixth term on the Police Jury. He served previously as president in 2007 and 2016.
President and owner of Landry Supply/Napa Auto Parts, Landry is a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and is a past member of the Jobbers Advisory Council for the National Automotive Parts Association. He and his wife, Leslie, have three children.
Guy Brame, District 8, which is Southwest Lake Charles, was elected vice president. He has served 18 years on the Police Jury. It’s his fourth time in the role and he has also served as president.
The co-owner of Brame Brothers Power Equipment and Rental, Brame is also the owner of General Lawn, LLC. He’s an active member of Trinity Baptist Church and Delta Waterfowl. He and his wife, Paula, have four children and six grandchildren.
Landry replaces District 10 Police Juror Tony Stelly, who served as last year’s president. Brame replaces Anthony Bartie, District 9.
Stelly thanked the jurors for their service under his leadership. “You are a fine group of gentlemen who do a great job to represent the people who elected you and the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury staff and administration is second to none,” he said.
Stelly called 2022 a “recovery year,” and noted that drainage initiatives and projects are about 50 percent complete. We’re still in recovery and still waiting on federal money.
Landry quipped that “Washington could learn something from the CPPJ’s election process,” that expedites getting past the election to get to the work officials are elected to do. “I’ll be reaching out to each of you to find out priorities for your district, and how we can work together to get things done,” he said.
