Theresa Ledet

Theresa Popillion Ledet was born on Nov. 22,1948, to Banard Popillion and Sylvester Popillion Sr. Theresa worked for Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for approximately 30 years until her retirement when she became a private caregiver for several individuals. She also owned and operated a booth at a local flea market for many years upon her death.
Theresa enjoyed going to garage sales and trail rides to spend some of her free time. She enjoyed selling western wear such as cowboy hats and boots, and she was known for having a one-stop shop. Theresa also loved to garden; she grew all types of vegetables in her home garden.
Theresa was a loving and caring sister, mother, grandmother, auntie and so much more. Theresa peacefully passed away at her residence on Dec. 23, 2022, at the age of 74 years old. Theresa is survived by her two children, Wilmer John “Jay” (Catina) Ledet of Sulphur, La., and her daughter, Tammy Monique (Charles) Guillory of Lake Charles, La. She also leaves her grandchildren, Ashley Shanae Ledet, Joseph (Julienne) Guillory, LaTresha Mercedes Ledet, Kleigh Alexandria Guillory, Ceairra Brandon Miller, Corie Renee Ledet, and Christopher Elijah Ledet and six great-grandchildren; her three siblings, Joseph Daniel (Eolia) Popillion of Kinder, Louisiana, Laura (Freddie) Patterson of Houston, Texas, and Sylvester (Margaret) Popillion of Kinder, La., and godchildren, Bo Lavergne, Anthony Simon, and Anthony Popillion along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family are left to treasure her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester Sr. and Banard Popillion; her husband, Wilmer John Ledet; her granddaughter, CarLeigh Donnetta Guillory; sister, AnnaMae Simon; brother, Joseph David Popillion; nephews, Raylin Jamar Popillion and Joseph Daniel Popillion Jr., and nieces, MaryAnn Simon Richardson, and Stephanie Gail Popillion. At this time, the family would like to send a special thanks out to King’s Funeral Home, Omega Psi Phi Greater Lake Charles Chapter, LA King of Kings, Gus Ardoin, and Eligha Guillory for all of their help during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, at 9 a.m. at King’s Funeral Home with a Rosary at 9:45 a.m., and funeral service at 11 a.m., at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King’s Funeral Home.
