The recently opened Hotel and Casino Horseshoe Lake Charles will be ringing in 2023 with their first New Year’s Eve celebration on Friday, Dec. 30.
To kickstart the holiday weekend, visitors will be able to view an elaborate visual drone show. Over 200 drones will fly over the lake to create unique designs custom-created for the casino, creating an exhibition that is “the first-of-its-kind in the market.”
A drone light show is a performance created using groups of synchronized and choreographed drones. The drones are controlled by a computer program that is able to communicate with the drones and arrange them into almost any image.
The show will begin at 9 p.m. Jeanne C. Rogers, Horseshoe director of marketing and Caesars Rewards, confirmed the show should be visible from inside and outside the pavilion and from the fourth level of the parking garage.
The 2023 New Year celebration will continue throughout the weekend. Guests will have the opportunity to witness lion dance celebrations. Lion dances are traditionally performed at Chinese Lunar New year festivals to infuse the upcoming year with prosperity and good luck. During the performances, two dancers in the lion costume perform traditional dances to music created by drums, cymbals and gongs.
There will also be three vehicle giveaways and special promotions available for guests throughout the weekend.
This event is free and open to the public.
