Mary Lucia Tyson LeBlanc, 71, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born in Lake Charles, La., to Eddie Alton and Florence Rebecca Tyson on Sept. 21, 1951.
Mary was a Sulphur High School Class of 1969 graduate. On May 29, 1970, she married the love of her life William (Bill) Monroe LeBlanc.
While her girls were in school, she was an active part of their lives helping with whatever they were doing. She worked at First Baptist Church Mother’s Day out and later as a substitute and teacher’s aide at Sulphur High School until she retired in 2008.
Bill and Mary enjoyed motorcycle trips, hunting, fishing, spending time at their camp, and their family. She also enjoyed spending time at her daughter’s quilt shop.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Oliver and Curtis Tyson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, two daughters, Tonya Moak (Lane) and Thélice LeBlanc; grandson Brian Mulvany (Paige); and great-grandson, Emmitt Mulvany, all of Sulphur, La.; along with her fur baby, Rosie.
Funeral service will be Sat. Dec. 17, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson & Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur, La. Chuck White, a family friend, will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, from 3-8 p.m. and on Saturday at 12 p.m. until time for the service. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, La.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, LAPAW Rescue, or a charity of your choice.
