Myron Bunch

Myron Bunch, of Sulphur, La., passed away early Friday morning, Dec. 9, 2022, in his home at the age of 92. Mr. Bunch was born on Oct. 20, 1930, in Westlake, La., to the late John and Salena Wing Bunch. He was the second youngest and last surviving of seven children.
Mr. Bunch lived his entire life in Sulphur, La., with the exception of his four years of service in the U.S. Air Force (1951-1955). He was a Christian and a lifetime member of Houston River Baptist Church in Sulphur, La. He married his sweetheart, Florence Pauline “Polly” Holmes, on Sept. 12, 1959, in Sulphur. Mr. Bunch worked at Firestone for 35 years. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and raising citrus, especially his sweet satsumas. Mr. Bunch was a devoted family man and loved spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Bunch was preceded in death by his parents, John and Salena Bunch; his sisters, Ola Mae and husband Loy Dietz, Mildred and husband J.M. Walker; brothers, Nolan and wife Laura Bunch, Olan “Buddo” and wife Merle Bunch, Earl and wife Stella Bunch, and Gene and wife Betty Bunch.
Mr. Bunch is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Florence “Polly” Bunch; son, Barry and wife Laura; and grandchildren, Meghan and husband Marshall McKee, Carly and husband Conner Chatelain and Samuel Bunch; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, along with other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at the Longstreet Memorial Cemetery in Longstreet, La. Pastor Lonnie Gothrup of Houston River Baptist Church will officiate.
