James “Bill” William Barron

James “Bill” William Barron, 74, of Sulphur, La., passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, in Lake Charles, La. He was born to his late parents, Chester and Edna Barron on Oct. 18, 1948, in Lake Charles, La. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and playing Monday night Poker games. Bill loved tying flies, fly fishing and was great at making wine. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy aboard the heavy cruiser, the USS Newport News. Bill was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Susan Barron; daughter, Tina Baus (Jerry) of Sulphur, La.; grandchildren, Tylor Baus (April), Layna Baus and Parker Baus; and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Baus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, La., on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at 10 a.m. with Father Timothy Goodly officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles, La.
