Laben “Butsie” Templet, Sr. was born April 16, 1951, and passed away Nov. 5, 2022, at the age of 71.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Templet; children, Laben Templet Jr. and companion, Kristie Doucet, Tim Templet, and Sharon Templet and fiancée Shane Parker; grandchildren, Paiton Mire and husband Nate, Jaydan Templet, Maddi Harrison, Rayleigh Templet, Tristin Templet, Camron Taylor and wife Laiken, and Chandler Taylor; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Powell and husband, James; and his beloved pet, Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Phillips and Irene Templet Phillips; grandson, Charles Taylor III; grandson-in-law, Travis “Bowie” Andrepont; and his grandmother, Lily Phillips.
Family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy. Visitation will continue 9 – 11 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Wayne Neyland will be officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery, DeQuincy, La.
