Priscilla “Toot” Roy

Priscilla Ann “Toot” Fontenot Roy, 79, of Lake Charles, La., passed away peacefully at 8:06 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, in a local care facility.
Priscilla was born July 23, 1943, in Basile, La. Her younger years were spent in Oberlin before her family moved to Lake Charles where she resided.She was a 1961 graduate of St. Charles Academy. She started her career working at St. Patrick Hospital, JCPenney, and in various positions for the City of Lake Charles. After retiring from the City of Lake Charles, she continued her career engaging with the public in sales at The White House and Dillard’s. She was a member of the Women’s Business and Professional Organization and was named Business Woman of the Year. Priscilla was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Having made her Cursillo forty years ago, she passionately devoted her life to the Lord and her faith and you would often find her at church. Throughout her life she made countless visits to her family, where she always reminded everyone of the love of Jesus. She loved the joy of music and dancing the night away. She will be remembered as a friendly, outgoing, very generous and prayerful woman who touched many lives throughout her life.
Priscilla is survived by her sisters, Glenda Verret (Leroy), Theresa Bourgeois (Ben), all of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Cathy Fontenot of Baton Rouge; stepson, Chris Roy (Kelly) of Rosharon, Texas; two step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, Missy Verret, Michael Verret, Mitch Verret, Melanie Lampson, Daniel Fontenot Jr., Andrew Fontenot, Virginia Bourgeois, Jaclyn Lapinski, Amanda Carlin and Jared Bourgeois; and nine great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Roy; parents, Percy Joseph and Euna Mae Fontenot; and brother, Danny Fontenot, Sr.
Her funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor Daniel Torres will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Cursillo rosary at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
