Daniel “Danny” E. Sheridan

Daniel E. “Danny” Sheridan III, of Lacassine, La., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, in Welsh, La. Danny was born Jan. 17, 1948, in Lake Charles, to Daniel E. Sheridan II and Rosemary (Falcon) Sheridan. He was a 1966 Graduate of Lacassine High School and attended McNeese State University on a basketball scholarship, where he was a founding member of Delta Sigma Phi, and from where he earned his Bachelors of Business Management Degree in 1970.
Danny was an Accountant for Texaco/Chevron for 29 years before he retired in the early 2000’s. After his retirement from Texaco/Chevron, Danny drove big rigs for John N John Trucking. As an avid sports fan, he thoroughly enjoyed attending his childrens’ and grandchildrens’ sporting events. Danny was a Devout Catholic, most recently attending Saint John the Evangelist Church, and he was an honorary member of Knights of Columbus and served on the Pro Life Council.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 54 years, Patti Sheridan; three children, Daniel Sheridan IV and wife Melanie of Winona, Minn., Wade Sheridan and his wife Trisha of Sulphur, La., and Mandi Kimball and her husband Chris of Missouri City, Texas; five sisters, Marilyn Vaughn of Sulphur, La., Beth Smith and Norma Jean Hardy, both of Lake Charles, La., Kay Jolie of Welsh, La., and Christine Cooke of Sulphur, La.; one brother, David Sheridan of Moss Bluff, La.; mother-in-law, Della Thibodeaux of Lacassine; 12 grandchildren, Kayla Griffin, Andrew Sheridan, Matthew Sheridan, Emily Sheridan, Hannah Sheridan, Sarah Sheridan, Jacob Sheridan, Joshua Sheridan, Joseph Sheridan, Isaac Sheridan, Kyler Kimball and Mason Kimball; and one great-granddaughter, who is on the way, Parker Kate Griffin.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at Saint Raphael Catholic Church, 211 S. Thompson Ave., in Iowa, La. Interment will follow in Saint John the Evangelist Cemetery in Lacassine. A rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, at The Hixson Funeral Home, 412 E. South Street in Welsh, where the family will be receiving friends until 8 p.m. The family requests contributions be made to The Lacassine Cemetery Fund.
