Lake Charles Police have released the names of the two deceased persons located after a third person was shot and killed during a confrontation with police.
Detectives have identified the victims as 60-year-old Sandra Reder Ardoin and 62-year-old Lee Edward Ardoin.
LCPD detectives have been assigned the investigation into the deaths of the two victims discovered in the rear area of the residence. They are investigating these deaths as homicides as the victims were discovered with gunshot wounds.
State Police are investigating the officer involved shooting aspect of the case at the request of Lake Charles Police.
The incident took place around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Lake Charles Police were dispatched to the area in reference to a suspicious circumstances call at 1817 7th St.
A 911 caller reported seeing an unclothed male subject walking in a nearby yard and also reported previously seeing the subject with a firearm.
Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the subject. An LCPD officer discharged their firearm and the subject retreated back into the home and closed the door, according to Lake Charles Police.
Louisiana State Police say after the subject retreated back into the residence LCPD SWAT officers eventually deployed a robot.
The robot entered the residence and located the deceased subject in the home. LCPD SWAT officers then entered the residence and located two additional deceased adults. The Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and determined that the two adults appeared to have been deceased for a few days prior to the officer-involved shooting incident.
No officers were injured during the incident.
This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with additional information is asked to contact lead Detectives Sgt. Willie Fontenot or Sgt. Joe Savoie of the Lake Charles Police Department by calling (337) 491-1311.
