Let your cup runneth over with fun at ‘Real Men Wear Pink’ Sip & Shop event downtown

What could possibly make shopping Downtown Lake Charles on a beautiful fall day more enjoyable? The chance to win prizes, sip a pink drink, enjoy some special discounts and do good, that’s what. The inaugural Real Men Wear Pink Sip ‘n’ Shop is Saturday, Oct. 15, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Proceeds from purchases not only help benefit the American Cancer Society. The more purchases made, the better the chance of winning the grand prize — a prize from each participating business.

Here’s how it works. Start with a stop at 3b&e Marketing, 727 Ryan St. Purchase a pink cup for $10. Show it at Downtown Lake Charles participating businesses marked with pink balloons. At some of the stops, the cup is good for a discount. At others, the merchant will fill the cup with a pink drink for free and offer a discount. Restaurants will be creating a special pink drink just for the occasion for purchase. Choose from alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks for those over 21.

Stop by the American Press offices at 715 Ryan St. and choose from pink lemonade or pink champagne. Make sure to make all the stops to see the special discounts. Participating vendors include Bayou Blend, Bespoke Hat Co., Botsky’s Premium Hotdogs, Buffi’s Peaux Boys, Bux Kajun Korner, Candice Alexander Art Studio, Mia’s Downtown, Olive and Indigo Jewelry & Goods, Panorama Music House, Papersmith & Co., Salon Lindsey, Stellar Beans Coffee House, Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp and Luna Bar and Grill.

“With the enthusiasm from the community and the business owners in downtown who are participating in the Lake Charles Real Men Wear Pink Sip and Shop this year, we hope to raise a significant amount of money to help support the American Cancer Society,” said Dan Phelan, American Press president and publisher and Real Men Wear Pink ambassador. “We hope to see as many of you as possible Saturday morning contributing to this important cause.”
