Jack Rufe Davis

Jack Davis was born July 10, 1929 in Grandfield, Okla. His parents were Ernest Hayes Davis and Velma Irene Creighton Davis.
He grew up in West Texas where his father worked in the oil field. He graduated from Monahans High School. Following high school he worked for the Texas & Pacific Railroad until he joined the United States Navy in 1948. He flew as a crewman on PBM flying boats with a rank of second class Aviation Electrician. In 1952 he received an honorable discharge.
He then worked in the oil fields in Texas, Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, and Kansas. He joined The Plummer & Steamfitter Union in Odessa, Texas where he was employed as a plumber and pipefitter. His employment allowed him to travel and work in Texas, Colorado, Kansas, New Jersey, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Michigan, Ohio, and finally Louisiana where he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his wife Angeline Genevieve Davis.
Those left to cherish his memory; two sons, Edward Davis and Billy Jack (Deb) Davis; two daughters, Irene (Phil) Brown and Sharon (Sylvan) Grover; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family to welcome friends in Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022 beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Consolata Cemetery.
